The Space Hotel Series Collection eBook Alain Gomez Reviews
A really weird set of interrelated short stories. My biggest complaint is that there needs to be more. I liked the Sci-Fi weirdness and some interesting twists along the way, but if anything there need to be more stories to really develop the author's universe.
I received a free copy of this book from for review.
Initially, I really started enjoying it but the ending threw me off. So, it started offf with a lot of action, adventure, sci-fi stuff with a decent storyline. A group of earth people travel on a spaceship and go to a hotel in space for some rest and recreation. Different personalities, different purposes, etc. What happens at the hotel is the begining of the end. Got to read it to find out. So, if you are a reader that is into strage sci-fi stuff, then read it. Otherwise, don't bother.
This book was an enjoyable, quick read. It was perfect for those little moments you have while you're waiting to go someplace or waiting in line at the grocery store. Each story held my interest, and most had an interesting twist at the end - which I absolutely love. I've never really been into short stories, finding that the length does not enable me to get fully involved in the story. However, these stories, for the most part, held my interest from the beginning (I had trouble getting into "Hotel Moonwalk," but the others were excellent, and I think I just kept getting hung up on the names.) I still definitely prefer full-length books that I can really get involved in, but these were good for their purpose - a quick, light read with an interesting twist.

And I'm so glad I did. I have to admit, yet again, I'm not a huge sci fi fan. But I am surprised once more by an author who made the genre enjoyable for me! Mr. Gomez brought his characters to life. He creeped me out, made me laugh, and more importantly made me wonder if some of the people I encounter on a daily basis are some of the people he has encountered! I highly recommend this book!
Happy Reading =}
The stories in this book remind me of some from the Golden Age of SF and the pulps, the stuff I was reading when growing up. I'm happy to see a new author giving us the same type of quick reads, with stories that surprise and sometimes cause a shudder. I very much enjoyed the Space Hotel idea and the way Alain Gomez changed viewpoints with each story so that we got more of the overall picture. There were a lot of typos in the file I received, mostly involving the letter "l", but even that didn't slow down the action. I plan to seek more from this author.

I received a free copy of this book for my review. This is a collection of short stories, the main focus of which is aliens. That may not sound like the most interesting or new subjects, but I believe readers should give these a try. They were short, sassy, all interconnected and creepy as hell. If I ever considered buying a trip on a space shuttle in the future (when I win the lottery of course) then these stories made me change my mind. If any of the events in these stories could possibly happen, then there is no way I will risk any encounter of the third, fourth or fifth kind. I recommend this author and will be looking out for more of her freaky imaginary (I hope) encounters with the alien race. The Space Hotel Series Collection
This collection of related short stories is very odd. You get a little back story on each character, and some characters are in several of the stories, however you never get enough information to care about them. When something happens you think "ehh" and just keep reading. It is really important to me to build that relationship between the character and reader. It can be tough to do with short stories, however it is not impossible.
Like some of the previous reviews, I too had several typos in the copy I received, mostly in the form of odd spacing placement, which was somewhat distracting, and some missing words, which caused me to read over that section several times to try and figure out what was supposed to be said.
That being said, it was very creative, and different from anything else I have read. I wouldn't mind reading a whole book on this topic, from the "bad guys" POV. And maybe a little more back-story on the characters.
