Dream sequences can be disorienting. For readers who prefer the straight linear timeline, this is a book to pass. For those who like to guess what is going on and those who enjoy a story out of sequence, similar to the movie style of Pulp Fiction, this book is for you. This story starts out simply in a bar with Arbor trying to avoid a guy picking her up. She's here to watch a band she loves. The lead singers Lyric and Killian are super gorgeous and it feels as if the songs are being sung just to her. When they stop to talk to her, she's surprised and thrilled. From an erotic standpoint, the sexual tension between Arbor and her men is humming with erotic energy. The fact that the men are all sexually at ease with each other and physically loving with each of the parties in this sexual combination is so hawt. For some, the sex may be a bit graphic. For me, it's mild. I tend to read very graphic sexual encounters. For those who hate the fading to black, have no fear, it does not happen here. The number of sexual episodes in this book is just the right amount to keep a reader engaged and Arbor off balance. This book moved me. The constant confusion Arbor experiences in this story is disorienting but for those who loved the movie What Dreams May Come, this story will generate the similar longing pain. This is a love story and whilst the blurb indicates it is dark. It is not. I consider dark to be more twisted, sadistic or sexually torturous. This book is dark through its depressing plot and it makes me melancholy. It is soul wrenchingly sadness because within the first few chapters, I'm already guessing what is going on and I'm not happy about it. I'm not happy because I can anticipate where this is going and it's the journey which makes me unhappy and filled with sorrow. Arbor's life feels like snapshots in time and she loses days. She feels like she is missing something but whenever Lyric and Killian show up, she feels complete. The flashes back in time as well as information provided through news clippings gives this book a slightly eerie foreboding feel. Ms. Parkerson is a new to me author and I like this writing style. It's very different and makes me uncomfortable. It heightens my emotions and makes this book memorable. The characters themselves are not complex yet they are so memorably in how they relate to Arbor and specifically Arbor's journey. It's a page turning book where each page, I'm waiting for the final reveal and when it happens, it's a bit horrific. It's worse than I expected and it causes me to tear up in the loss and sacrifice. And through all of this pain, Ms. Pakerson delivers a beautiful happily ever after. It's shocking. This book is highly recommended to romance lovers who believe love will conquer all.* Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.

Sated A Dark Romance Wrecked Book 1 edition by Charity Parkerson Romance eBooks Reviews
I am not sure what I just read. While this story had potential and I did enjoy some parts of it I found it very hard to follow at times. It skips from the past to the future and really doesn't explain what happened. I was confused on parts. Without giving too much away in the past someone dies but then they are in the present and they mention some blood ritual but don't say who did it or why. If this author's other stories flow like this I am not sure I would read them.
Where to start. This book is unlike anything I've read before and is a step away from Parkerson's usual romances. The book throws you into the action and doesn't slow for anything. Aubry is caught between two men, and is happy to be there, but something's not right, and she doesn't know what it is. Parkerson managed to keep me unsettled throughout the whole book - there was a surreal quality to it, although the hot bits were super hot. I won't say much more about the storyline as there is one huge, huge, huge twist at the end, which left me going OMG! The only criticism I had is that the beginning was probably too fast for me—I'm one of those people who gets into a pool one step at a time, but I know some people love to jump straight in. Anyway, I'd recommend this to people who love their hot romances mixed with a bit of mystery and darkness. This is definitely a quality read that adds to this author's already awesome body of work.
Enter the world of Killian and Lyric. Don't be afraid. Or maybe you should be. You decide.
Oh my God, yes, confused, but in a good way. I had a love hate relationship with this story. At times, I hated being confused, but then, loved not knowing what the hell was going on. It was dark. The description doesn't lie about that. It was sexy, heated and completely addicting, most likely the sexiest story I've ever read.
The writing was fabulous, Charity has a gift that is not to be denied, and the story was very well thought out. At first I thought not, but when you get to the end and you realize Ms. Parkerson did have a plan and it all makes sense. I want to read this book again just so I can relive the darkness and the complexity of it. Thanks for writing such an amazing story. This was the first book of Charity Parkerson's that I'd had the pleasure of reading and now I'm hooked on Charity. )
I have been reading romance, and adult romance novels since forever, and it is hard to find a story that is truly different. Maybe saturated with the genre (although still my favourite), I have started to look for the stories with the unusual plots. I like different and it was for exactly that reason that I downloaded a free copy of this story when Ms Parkerson offered it a few days ago.
The book opens with a warning, and be warned it is there for a reason. You may not like this book, and I would suggest that you do not buy it if you are sensitive towards material with satanic ritual references.
I read the book in one sitting. The characters appear to be shallow and then deep and then as solid as fog, and yet I got the impression that the author did that on purpose to keep from revealing too much too soon. She did this exceptionally well.
The story has twists and turns, and you need to read carefully to pick up on the real story as it unfolds. The romance is complicated and yet poignant at times, but the dark undercurrents are clear as the story develops.
The story was gripping and simply difficult to put down until I knew how the plot was going to untwist itself at the end. Did it untwist? I am not going to tell you, but be warned it will be a surprise.
Even after I finished reading it, it took an hour or two for all the hints and twists in the story to form a coherent conclusion in my mind.
This was exceptional storytelling at its best. I won’t go so far as to recommend it to everyone, because it will definitely not fall into many people’s taste. I will say this however, if you are looking to read something sizzling hot and very different, this book is for you. Well done, Charity.
